For those of you who don’t know what the PSA do here at Eastlands I wanted to give you a brief overview – we are a group made up of parents and staff that come together to raise funds for the school. We aim to use the funds to have a positive educational impact on the greatest number of children possible and provide the “extras” that aren’t covered within the School Budget.
This year as a PSA we have done so much so I will talk about just a few of the things we’ve done this year and there is so much more I could list!
- Supported the school with travel costs for School Trips
- Organised Pre-loved uniform sales
- Funded the Orienteering Project around the school grounds
- Funded plants to make the School grounds look brighter
- Contributed to the allotment project – funding plants and equipment
- Funded the Hatching Project for Reception
- Provided refreshments for the World Book Day events
- Sold refreshments at the Christmas Plays and Sports Days
- We have also organised two discos and the Christmas and Summer Fayre
- We also funded the Year 6 leavers party and Yearbooks
In the next academic year, we have already secured dates for the Spooky Disco, Online Book Fayre and Christmas Fayre, with other events being discussed and considered. As I’m sure you can imagine, all of this takes a lot of time and energy and wouldn’t be possible without parents volunteering, we are grateful to all those who volunteer their skills and time so please do continue to support us in this next academic year.
